Posting to all platforms for the first time

Connect your accounts, write once in Compose, select platforms, and hit Post Now or schedule for later.

Connecting a social account

Open Connections, choose a platform, and complete the one-time sign-in. You can add multiple accounts per platform. Most platforms connect in one click — X (Twitter) is an optional paid add-on that uses your own X API keys, since X now charges per post (see below).

A post failed — or why do I need to reconnect an account?

Social platforms — especially Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest — can expire a connection for security. This commonly happens after you change that platform's password, or periodically as the platform rotates access for safety. When it does, a post can fail with a “session/token invalidated” error (the content is fine — it's the authorization that expired).

The fix takes 20 seconds: open Connections → Disconnect the affected account → Connect it again and approve the permissions. That refreshes the authorization and posting works again. Your drafts and scheduled posts are not affected.

How do I connect X (Twitter)?

Why is X a paid add-on? X removed its free API tier in 2026 — posting now costs money at the platform level (about $0.015 per post, or $0.20 if the post contains a link), billed by X. So that this cost isn't built into our plan prices for everyone — including people who never post to X — X is an optional add-on: you connect your own X developer app and pay X directly, only for what you post. It's a one-time, ~5-minute setup. This is X's pricing, not ours.

In short: instead of a shared connection, X uses your own X developer app. Your X posts are billed by X to your own account, so you stay in control of that cost — and everyone else's plan stays cheaper.

Step by step:

1. Go to the X Developer Console and sign in with the X account you want to post from.
2. When X asks you to “Describe all of your use cases of X's data and API”, paste the ready-made description below, tick all three agreement checkboxes, and click Submit.
3. Create an App (in the new console: Apps → Create App), then add some API credits under Billing — X posting is pay-per-use (~$0.015/post, $0.20 with a link).
4. In your app's Settings → User authentication, enable Read and Write permissions.
5. Open Keys and tokens and generate your API Key, API Key Secret, and an Access Token + Access Token Secret.
6. In POST-BASE, go to Accounts → Connect → X and paste those four values. That's it — you can now publish to X like any other platform.

What to write in X's “Describe your use cases” box — copy & paste the text below. It's accurate for how POST-BASE uses X (posting your own content only) and keeps X's review simple:

I use the X API to publish my own posts to my own X account through POST-BASE, a social media management tool I use to manage my own accounts.

My use cases:
- Creating and publishing posts (text, links, images, and video) to my own X account, using OAuth-authenticated write access with my own app credentials.
- Scheduling my own posts to be published at a later time.

I only post my own original content to my own account. I do not collect, store, analyze, scrape, or resell X data; I do not access or display other users' data; and I do not use the API for advertising, surveillance, or government use. This is purely for managing my own personal/business social media presence.

X posting is pay-per-use — you only pay X for the posts you actually publish (billed by X to your own developer account), so you stay in full control of the cost. Your four keys are stored encrypted and never shared.

How do I connect Facebook?

Facebook publishes to a Page, not a personal profile — so you need a Facebook Page you manage.

1. In POST-BASE: Accounts → Connect → Facebook.
2. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages your Page.
3. If Meta shows a “Reconnect” screen, click “Edit settings” (not “Reconnect”) — otherwise it reuses old settings and skips page selection.
4. On “Which Pages do you want to use?”, select your Page. No Page yet? Click “Create Page”, make one (a name + category is enough), then come back.
5. Approve all permissions, then Continue.
6. You’ll return to POST-BASE and your Page appears under Accounts.

Tip: a brand-new Page with 0 followers works fine.

How do I connect YouTube?

You need a Google account that has a YouTube channel — an account with no channel can’t connect.

1. Accounts → Connect → YouTube.
2. Choose the Google account that has your channel. (Watch out if you’re signed into several Google accounts — pick the right one.)
3. If you have multiple channels, pick the one you want to post to.
4. Approve all permissions (manage account + upload videos).
5. You’ll return to POST-BASE and your channel appears under Accounts.

No channel? On youtube.com click your profile → “Create a channel”, then connect.

Can I connect Threads?

Threads is coming soon. Threads requires its own approved Meta app before a third-party tool can publish on your behalf, and we’re completing that approval. Until then, Threads appears as “coming soon” in Connections and can’t be linked yet.

You can publish to all the other platforms today — and as soon as Threads is approved it’ll become connectable here, with no change to your plan.

How do I connect Instagram?

Instagram publishing requires a Professional account (Business or Creator).

1. In the Instagram app, set your account to Professional (Settings → Account type) if it isn’t already.
2. In POST-BASE: Accounts → Connect → Instagram.
3. Pick the right account and approve all permissions.

How do I connect LinkedIn?

POST-BASE connects a LinkedIn Company Page you’re an admin of.

1. Accounts → Connect → LinkedIn.
2. Sign in as a Page admin, pick the Page, and approve all permissions.

How do I connect TikTok / TikTok Business?

1. First, sign into the TikTok account you want in this browser.
2. In POST-BASE: Accounts → Connect → TikTok (or TikTok Business).
3. Approve all permissions.

How do I connect Pinterest?

1. Sign into the right Pinterest account.
2. In POST-BASE: Accounts → Connect → Pinterest, and approve all permissions.

I connected on the platform but it’s not showing in POST-BASE

Almost always one of these:

• Give it a few seconds. Right after sign-in the account can take a moment to appear — POST-BASE keeps re-checking, so wait for the “connected ✓” message before retrying.
• Wrong / ineligible account: a Google account with no YouTube channel, or a Facebook account with no Page, can’t be connected. Use an eligible account.
• Page / channel not selected: on Facebook you must tick a Page; on YouTube pick a channel.
• “Reconnect” reused old settings: choose “Edit settings” instead, so you can select your Page/account.
• Permissions denied: approve every permission the platform requests.
• Already linked elsewhere: disconnect the account from the other tool, then try again.

How scheduling works

Pick a date and time in the composer or click a calendar slot. Scheduled posts publish automatically at their time.

AI captions & images

Use "Write caption" for an AI-written post, and "Create image" to generate a visual with AI in the composer.

AI features are powered by third-party models (OpenAI & fal.ai). POST-BASE is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by them.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime in a few seconds — no email or phone call required:

1. Open the “Manage subscription” link in any billing email you received from Creem (our payment provider & merchant of record). This opens your secure customer portal.
2. In the portal, click Cancel subscription and confirm.

After cancelling you keep full access until the end of your current billing period — you’re not cut off immediately and you won’t be charged again. You can resubscribe anytime. Prefer to try first? Start a free 7-day trial — no card required.

Programmatic access — overview

POST-BASE gives you an API key that works two ways: as a Claude (MCP) connector so you can manage posts just by chatting with an AI assistant, and as a REST API for your own scripts, Zapier, n8n and similar tools. You can also set a webhook to be notified the moment a post finishes. It all lives in Settings → API access & webhooks.

Creating and using an API key

1. Open Settings → API access & webhooks → API keys.
2. Type a name (e.g. Zapier, n8n, my script) and click Create key.
3. Your key (it starts with pb_) is shown only once — copy it now and store it somewhere safe. Lost it? Just revoke it and create a new one.
4. Send it on every request as a header: Authorization: Bearer pb_…

You can keep several named keys and revoke any one without affecting the others. Never put a key in client-side code or a public repository.

Connect to Claude (MCP)

Manage your posts from Claude Desktop (or any MCP-compatible assistant) in plain language — draft, schedule, list and publish just by chatting.

Server URL: https://post-base.com/api/mcp

Option A — Claude Desktop (no terminal):

1. Create an API key (see above).
2. In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
3. Paste the server URL, add a header Authorization: Bearer pb_…, and save.

Option B — CLI (one command): right after you create a key, a ready-to-paste command is shown in Settings:

Then just ask, for example: “list my connected accounts”, “draft a post for LinkedIn and Bluesky about our launch”, “schedule it for tomorrow 9am”, or “publish it now”. Publishing requires an active plan.

Post webhooks

Get a signed HTTP POST to your own server whenever a post finishes publishing — from anywhere (manual, scheduled, MCP or the REST API).

1. Open Settings → API access & webhooks → Post webhook.
2. Enter a public https:// URL and click Save. We generate a signing secret (shown right there — you can copy or rotate it).
3. On each event we POST JSON and sign it with your secret: header X-PostBase-Signature: sha256=HMAC-SHA256(secret, rawBody). Recompute the HMAC over the raw request body and compare to verify it really came from us.

Private, loopback and cloud-metadata URLs are blocked for security.

Base URL https://post-base.com/api/v1. Authenticate with Authorization: Bearer pb_… on every request.

• GET /accounts — list your connected accounts.
• GET /posts?limit=20 — list recent posts.
• POST /posts — create a draft or schedule. Body { text, platforms:[…], scheduledAt? } (omit scheduledAt for a draft; an ISO-8601 future time schedules it).
• POST /publish — publish now. Body { text, platforms:[…] }. Requires an active plan.
